kado and justin, the morning after
when kado and justin had to move their wedding from mexico back to la, we had their travel costs to reconcile. they live right by the beach and consider themselves fish, so fully submersing themselves in the ocean the morning after their wedding seemed like the perfect idea!
i have to say i was tiny bit worried when i left them at cafe pinot at midnight that they would never show up in the shutters lobby the next morning but 5 minutes early, there they were!
the morning was balmy and the water warm and the shoot total heaven! reem acra might not appreciate this shoot but i’m in love with these images and i’m pretty sure kado and justin are going to think these were worth it.
we only shot about 35 minutes but i have so many favorites!
and kado and justin, i went back and found my flip flops!
stay tuned for the wedding images.
oh and please tell me the dress is safely at the dry cleaners!?

love, love, love the black and whites!!!! great job. wish I could have tagged along.
you need to send these to trashthedress.com ![]()
these are all wonderful… but my favorite is the 2nd to last one with the water crashing at their feet. stunning!
The one of them kissing in the water with the ferris wheel in the back- the light is AMAZING. Is that an off-camera flash or natural light peaking through the clouds??? TOTALLY awesome. Wow..
i only ever use flash if i have to, these are 100% natural light
Those are great! Makes me want to rent “From Here to Eternity.”
BEAUTIFUL! How AWEsome are these? : )
Jen you ROCK. Loving them!!! I think the last one is my favorite…
Wow!!!…So Romantic….
cortney and stacy, healdsburg, ca
cortney and stacy had such a clear vision for their wedding that from our first meeting, i was waiting to shoot it! i appreciate everyone’s personal style and how their unique weddings reflect that. cortney and stacy’s aesthetic is so aligned with mine that i couldn’t help but get very very excited. not to mention that shooting at the madrona manor meant a whole weekend in wine country with my girl chelsea.
needless to say cortney and stacy’s vision totally exceeded my expectations and completely filled me with inspiration. from their unique lack of flowers in favor of feathers, to their vintage style, i was completely in heaven. add to that the fact that they are two of the most beautiful, coolest women on the planet and top it off with the most friendly and fun group of wedding guests and i had to pinch myself to remind myself this was work.
congrats you two! here are way too many instant favorites.

two of chelsea’s beautiful portraits of stacy

Jen, great images! Good job capturing and the connection between Stacy and Cortney. I also love how you worked the vintage angle. Sweet.
You are amazing. You captured our vision perfectly and made us feel beautiful. Your spirit and energy were so positive and in sync with us that it really felt like we were posing for a lifelong friend. Thank you so much for memorializing our big day in such a grand and impeccable way. We adore you!

alison and barry, palos verdes, ca
yikes i don’t think its ever taken me this long to blog a wedding! sorry guys!
its always such an honor to shoot a second wedding for a family. alison is tyler’s ( of the becky and tyler wedding i shot last year at beverly hills hotel) sister. alison’s chose la venta as her venue.
its really so much fun to feel like i already know so much of the family and i think it feels more personal to them too.
here are my faves from their wedding

This is why I’m flying you to Hawaii to shoot my wedding. I love what you did with this wedding!!!! AWESOME JOB Jen!!! xoxoxox
caroline and sam engagement
caroline and sam are getting married at the beach club in october. caroline scheduled an impromptu engagement session a few weeks ago and i was so excited to finally get to meet sam. their big day will be filled with sand and sea so we decided to do some street shooting for the engagement. we had a lot of fun roaming the streets and canals of venice and got some great stuff.

Great shots, Jen! So excited to see them all!
oreo is more than just cream filled
we found this cat two weeks ago and the girl is preggers! we got her an ultrasound yesterday and she is pregnant with 4 kittens. when we got her she was really skinny but when she started to out eat our 15 pound cat, gain weight by the day and sleep all the time, we knew something was up. we are taking orders for her kittens. her escapades happened before we found her so we have zero idea of who the father is or what they kittens will look like but it should be a fun surprise. they should be here in 2-3 weeks.
here she is passed out on my messy desk which is her current favorite spot.

oreo your going to be so cute when you’re a mom. i hope you have black and white and orange kittens. i don’t want to watch you have them though but i love you okay?
